Senior Manager, Revenue Operations

About.com is looking for an experienced Senior Manager of Revenue Operations. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with experience maximizing direct sales revenue through a combination of process implementation, pricing analysis and inventory strategies. Applicant should be skilled in developing and communicating complex analysis to cross-functional teams (sales, product, marketing, and senior staff members).

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience directly related to quantitative analysis, pricing/yield management, and digital ad inventory management.
  • Extraordinary analytical skills and expert proficiency in excel (charts, pivot tables, macros etc)
  • Experience building complex models combining data from ad technologies (DART for Publishers) and internal measurements.
  • Experience with rate card management, inventory management, and developing rules for exceptions.
  • Demonstrated financial management experience, including the development of financial projections, and budgets.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be highly organized and proactive.

Senior Account Director

About.com is recognized as a top 15 content site and is one of the largest producers of original content on the Web. Due to growth and internal changes, we are strategically looking to hire a sales professional for our New York City headquarter offices.

The individual will be responsible for selling advertising packages to major advertisers and their agencies. This person will be an experienced media advertising salesperson with a proven track record of selling into clients, media planning companies and their advertising agencies.

We are looking to add a dynamic advertising sales professional who can successfully present, have a positive attitude, work collaboratively with the VP-Eastern Sales in New York, be a self-starter and have a desire to grow with a fast-paced, smartly-run and highly credible online publisher.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain an effective, accountable and diversified book of business that is focused and consistently utilizes appropriate tools and methodologies required to present a winning proposition to prospective customers.
  • Lead the development of advertising sales strategies securing the appropriate resources to achieve approved goals and strategies.
  • Translate and manage approved strategies into sales programs incorporating an aggressive, systematic plan for approaching and soliciting new business.
  • Plan, organize and lead activities focused on establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with key decision makers at agencies and targeted accounts.
  • The ability to negotiate and close the most complex advertising sales deals.
  • Develop and implement appropriate processes to ensure effective sales proposal production (RFP's) and management of sales contracts.
  • Ensure the integration of sales efforts with marketing programs.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years interactive media sales experience.
  • Sales experience in direct online and trade driven sales.
  • Proven track record of consistently closing profitable deals at desired margins.
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of the online market, advertising community, customer requirements and how media is bought and sold.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments and leadership through consultative selling in developing new business and expansion within key verticals.
  • Expertise building relationships with key personnel at agencies and targeted accounts.
  • An undergraduate degree required.
